About Us, “Where The Dreamers Go”

Let's know about us

The Sounds Project started in 2015 when four young people from the same campus dreamed of creating a campus-community-based music platform that could be embraced by the public and music lovers universally. With nothing but passion and spirit as their foundation, they began initiating small gigs and medium-scale events locally.

Over time, from local gigs and campus events, The Sounds Project continued and was managed by its founders even after they graduated. Through dozens of trial-and-error events, The Sounds Project transformed into a music collective that gradually gained recognition among enthusiasts, becoming a consistent concert organizer platform in the Jakarta and Depok areas.

After roughly five years – now entering its sixth year – The Sounds Project has evolved into a national-scale music hub, presenting dozens of local and international bands in one unified festival. It has become a benchmark and a source of inspiration, as well as a trigger for the emergence of various other alternative festivals, many of which are now initiated by today’s youth.

Now, The Sounds Project agrees that as a brand, it has no singular ownership or individual behind it, but represents itself as a festival belonging to everyone: the community, musicians, sponsors, vendors, and other stakeholders, and most importantly, The Sounds Project belongs to all the audiences who attend.

With the principle of "Where The Dreamers Go," The Sounds Project will continue to be a home for young people who dare to dream and realize their creative works, regardless of any obstacles. It’s a place where they learn to become the best versions of themselves, through real work in making a festival with a solid concept, delivery, and execution.
